Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hard courts
A comeback Medvedev claimed his first trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.
Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid season, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the American major.
The player's varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-term coach his previous coach.
Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, he has consistently improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This marks the player's maiden championship following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court from spring of that year.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 different events.
"For the first time I'm at a competition with my both daughters at once, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," stated ranked player the champion.
"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had lost his previous six finals, comprising in the German tournament earlier this year.
His defensive approach and regular reactions on court had led commentators to wonder if his capacity to perform at the elite level was finished.
Yet the player has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform assertively, reinforced by an enhanced service.
The champion recovered from a break down in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, taking four of the final five games to go ahead.
The competitors exchanged break points in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden professional championship, seized the initiative to force a final set.
Moutet saved four early opportunities in a tight final set before the champion broke to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, he earned victory with a shot at the net, with Moutet incapable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
